Yes you, you bloody dipstick
The news emanating from Chile this morning is that Arturo Vidal spent last night under the roof of his local constabulary after totalling his Ferrari on the outskirts of Santiago while driving under the influence of alcohol.
Vidal suffered only minor cuts and bruises after veering off the road and parking his car in a ditch. Indeed, the San Luis de Buin hospital confirmed Vidal was treated for “minor injuries” in their A&E department.
He was then held by police overnight and is now scheduled to face a local judge this morning (Wednesday) according to Chilean national police Colonel Ricardo Gonzalez.
“The driver of the red vehicle was under the influence of alcohol,” Gonzalez confirmed to the media.
As you’d expect, the Juventus midfielder has made an awful mess of his expensive brum-brum too…

“Unfortunately I was involved in a traffic accident,” Vidal wrote on Twitter. “Luckily we are all well and calm. Thanks for worrying.”
Lamentablemente me vi involucrado en un accidente de tránsito. Por suerte estamos todos bien y tranquilos. Gracias x la preocupación!

Obviously “I was pissed as a fart behind the wheel of an automobile because I’m a thoughtless clown” doesn’t translate into Spanish.
Vidal is currently back in Chile on Copa America duty, having scored twice in La Roja’s 3-3 draw against Mexico on Monday.
