And lo, the first half-way meaningful silverware of the season belongs to Chelsea, who triumphed in today’s Capital One Cup Final by beating Tottenham by two goals to zip – with Chelsea’s defenders doing most of the donkey work at the other end once again.
In fact, the Blues’ defence (we’re talking Terry, Ivanovic, Zouma, Cahill and Azpilicueta) now have a bloody impressive 16 goals and 13 assists between them so far this season.
Who needs strikers?
Anyway, we think it’s fairly safe to say Jose Mourinho enjoyed his day out at Wembley!
Look at his little face! It’s almost enough to make you forgive him for being a brash, nigh-on unbearable curmudgeon most of the time.
