Tottenham put their north London derby heartache behind them with a hard-fought 2-1 win away to Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night.

The win sees the Lilywhites win Group H ahead of holders Real Madrid and book their spot in the last 16.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side had gone behind at the Westfalenstadion, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scoring just after the half-hour mark.

However, after the break, Spurs were much improved and got one back on 49 minutes via a clinical Harry Kane effort.

Dele Alli, poor against Arsenal and not much better in the first-half against Dortmund, started to influence the game and on 76 minutes, the midfielder set up Son Heung-min, who produced a fine finish to complete the comeback.

The game would end 2-1 to Tottenham, who will finish top of Group H, quite an achievement considering the quality of their opponents.

As for Dortmund, they continue to struggle both domestically and in Europe, with their haul of just two points from their five Champions League games this season a far cry from the heady heights they hit in 2012/13 when they reached the final.
