Martin Olsson Sees Deadline Day Move To West Brom Fall Through After Car Gets Stuck In Snow Drift On The A14

By rights, it should’ve been one of the biggest, glitziest moves of the window but sadly fate (and the rotten English weather) conspired to nix Martin Olsson’s dramatic deadline day move to West Brom at the 11th hour.

With the Swedish full-back on the road from East Anglia to the West Country in order to dot the T’s and cross the I’s on a £4million switch to the Hawthorns, it would appear that his car became entrenched in a rogue snow drift somewhere just outside Coventry – at least according to the wafflings of Sky Sports presenter Simon Thomas…

It should at this point be mentioned that several other sources are reporting Olsson’s move collapsed due to the Baggies refusing to insert a relegation clause into his contract – but that’s not nearly as much fun as imagining poor little Martin buried up to his gullet in snow at the side of a dual carriageway, now is it?
