FK Buducnost were crowned champions of the Montenegrin First League on Wednesday night despite losing 1-0 at home to Lovcen in their final game.
The match was a bit of a damb squib by all accounts, though a bit of excitement did break out in the 102nd minute (yep, 12 minutes of stoppage time) when an over-eager – read: clearly pissed – Buducnost fan (who call themselves the Varvaris, i.e, ‘the Barbarians’) in full face-paint hurdled out onto the pitch, waddled over to hug one of his side’s players then carefully cleared himself a path to line up and tuck away a fine free-kick from 20 yards – celebrating with a knee-slide before being escorted away…
You can almost read the ref’s mind at the end there: ‘Sod this, I’ve got scampi for dinner when I get home *phweeep*’
