The recent amateur tie between local sides Elounda and Ierapetra on the Greek island of Crete had to be stopped multiple times after a particularly stubborn pitch-invader repeatedly refused to leave the goalmouth.
Mid-way through the game, a goat pottered into the goalmouth (feed him and he will score!), with several players and even the referee attempting to move the cloven interloper before a spectator finally cleared the bloody thing by hauling it off by its horns…
No wonder Shaun (yep, we’ve named the goat ‘Shaun’) was so reluctant to leave; being subbed on then subbed off again really is the ultimate ignominy.
