Arsenal kept the option of an all-English Europa League final alive by seeing off Napoli in the second leg of their quarter-final.
The Gunners won 2-0 at the Emirates last week and single early goal from Alexandre Lacazette was enough to settle the second leg – the only blot being a hamstring suffered by bang-in-form Aaron Ramsey.
Anyway, it wasn’t a bad effort from the boy Laca, either, if silky smooth 30-yard freekicks happen to be your thing…
So, Arsenal will now face Valencia across two legs in the semi-finals before – potentially, of course – meeting Chelsea at the Olympic Stadium in Baku come 29th May.
You have to hand it to Unai Emery. The man hasn’t been knocked out of the Europa League in four straight campaigns now.
