He was originally set to take over in the summer, but Hoffenheim have gone ahead and fast-tracked Julian Nagelsmann’s appointment as head coach thereby making him the youngest manager in Bundesliga history.
The 28-year-old (who is still studying for his senior coaching license) had agreed a three-year deal to take over at the end of the current campaign.
However, with interim coach Huub Stevens leaving the relegation-threatened club earlier in the week on health grounds, the path was cleared for Nagelsmann to step up from the Under-19s to take over ahead of schedule.

Here’s wishing him the best of luck. Looking at the Bundesliga table, he’s probably going to need it.
