Being as it was their first game after Eusebio’s sad passing, every single Benfica player took to the pitch for Sunday’s O Classico derby against Porto with Eusebio’s name printed on the back of their shirt in tribute to the club legend – beating their arch rivals 2-0 (in a game they really, really had to win) thanks to goals from Eusebio and Eusebio…

Portugal Soccer

In fact, it was former Bolton loanee Rodrigo who opened the scoring, looking like he was about to spontaneously combust with pure emotion after cracking a shot past Porto ‘keeper Helton at the near post…

The entire crowd at the Estadio da Luz also stopped whatever they were doing to chant ‘You are our King’ in unison in the 71st minute of the game (Eusebio’s age when he died) in tribute to the Portuguese legend.

Nice.
