Schalke 04 have just unveiled their home strip for 2017/18 and, as well as being a handsome thing in its own right, the new shirt is also a cutting edge piece of technological advancement.

The Bundesliga side have struck a deal with supermarket chain AllyouneedFresh that will see the company’s logo appear on the sleeve of their new jersey.

However, Schalke have also revealed that the shirt will feature an embedded microchip designed to allow fans to make cashless purchases of food, refreshments and other various products at the Veltins Arena.

This from the club’s official website:

The integrated chip is currently still in the development phases and can certainly be described as an extremely fresh innovation.

From here on, the two respective partners plan further action and methods to combine with life.

Welcome to the future baby, help yourself to an overpriced Sprite.
