New Navy England Away Kit Unveiled, Has ‘Stonewash Denim-Effect’ Collar? Keeper Kit Is…Different/Eyesore (Photos)

By Chris Wright

Boxerman David Haye has been roped in to launch the new England away kit by sporting it while he makes his way to the ring before his heavyweight unification bout with Wladimir Klitschko tomorrow evening, but a few photos of the shirt have been released today and it’s, well, a bit underwhelming really…

Deary me, what’s going on with that collar? As has been noted, at first glance it looks very much like it’s made from the kind of stonewash denim as favoured by Chuck Norris in his heyday.

In fact, if you teamed the new England jersey up with a pair of classic ‘Norris-approved Action Jeans’ you’d have yourself one hell of an outfit my friend…

“But Chuck, will they bind my legs?”

*Receives devastating roundhouse to the face*

UPDATE: Presenting…the accompanying goalkeeper kit…

When was last time we didn’t have a red away kit? hmmmmm, im too young to know

  2. Chris says:

@Andrew Thompson: I could be wrong here but I think it may have been the grey one from Euro 96.

  3. Josh says:

Seriously they come out with a new kit every 6 months. Other countries are still using their World Cup kits while we are on our 2nd one after the World Cup. I ain’t made of money.

  4. :) says:

you might want to add the goalkeeper kit, it’s a talking point to say the least

  5. Chris says:

@:) – Woah nelly. Thanks for the nudge buddy!

  6. Jon says:

The keeper kit’s legit? Just bring back the yellow one, fgs

  7. 'Sota Dan says:

    Taking the pics in order:
    (1) I didn’t know Halle Berry’s ex-husband was English;
    (2) Second, Chuck Norris is awesome, all the time, and in every circusmtance; and
    (3) Third, I have sudden urge to play Tetris.

  8. Mark Bosnich says:

if david james was still playing for england, this new gk kit will match his crazy hair perfectly

  9. dave says:

    this is rather shit

  10. Joe says:

Anyone else get a ‘medical’ vibe from that keeper kit? Dr. Hart in the house!

  11. Calski says:

It’s like they don’t want us to buy it.

  12. Isaac says:

I honestly can’t imagine how anyone can think that goalkeeper kit is nice

In response to all the hate Umbro were getting they said this:

Umbro Wait until you see it on Joe Hart guys, he can pull it off!

On the plus side, I guess it will distract strikers bearing down on goal

  13. fafaf says:

I like the kit, it’s simple and different from the usual colours.

  14. Hasselhof says:

Nike brings out 1995 designed keeper shirt for the 11/12 season, Umbro says “fuck you guys, we’ll bring it back to 1990!”

  15. toji says:

the goaly kit is tactical genius, any striker bearing down on
goal will inevitably have an epileptic fit..

    tis horrible lol

  16. QueerAsFuß says:

    Oh wow………..

Distract the strikers with a tasteful teal-colour-story tribute to Tetris.

Can someone shop the kit on to the high kicking Chuck Norris though?
    Awesome.

  17. Hugh Jass says:

looks like the Umbro golf apparel designer got the gig on this one.

  18. Kevin says:

doesn’t matter what they wear when they keep playing shit football!

  19. Paul McGuigan says:

    Jorge Campos!

  20. bag says:

    Jorge Campos works at Umbro?
Also, didn’t David Seaman wear an atrocious kit at Euro 96? If shit kits wins trophies, this kit could be a sign of good things to come.
