Quote of the day: Did Gary Neville taunt Michael Owen about his lack of league titles?

Just picked this up from one of the sports journos I follow on Twitter (Steve Anglesey @ the Mirror) and thought you should hear it too:
Gary Neville alleged to have introduced Mickey Owen to Danny Wellbeck at Carrington thus: “This is Danny. He’s 18 and HE’S won the league.”
Ha, that would be just like the Neviller to make such a crack – though I’m sure he was only joking (if he even said it). We all know what United’s badge-kissing shop steward thinks about Scousers, after all…

Classic.

  1. joe 90 says:

well at leaset Gary Neville and Mickey Owen have something in common “Not alot of games in the past 3 years”

  2. Tone says:

Well, Danny hasn’t won the league, so it would be a crap way of taunting someone…

  3. kazimkazim says:

Sounds a bit too humorous to be Gazza Nev….Although Tone is right, 3 appearances doesn’t get you a league medal
