Billericay Town owner Glenn Tamplin was up to his old tricks over the weekend, sacking his manager in utterly ludicrous circumstances.
Indeed, Billericay suffered a shock 2-0 loss to Chippenham in the National League South, which appears to have cost manager Harry Wheeler his job.
As reported by the Essex Live, Wheeler received a text message from Tamplin five minutes before the end of the game to inform him that he’d been ousted from his post.
Some new info out of Billericay Town tonight. According to a source, owner Glenn Tamplin told Harry Wheeler he was sacked five minutes before the game even finished #BTFC #nonleaguehttps://t.co/tPWcr2MQHt

Class act, is our Glenn.
For the record, the Chippenham loss was Wheeler’s first defeat as Billericay manager in 29 matches. He is also the man who delivered promotion last season with a game to spare.
Of course, as well as the horrendous ‘motivational’ murals and exorbitant amounts of money he bandies around, Tamplin runs his football club like a despot, routinely installing himself as manager if he feels his hires aren’t performing to his liking.
So, all in all, don’t be surprised if the next manager hired by Tamplin to replace Wheeler looks an awful lot like Glenn Tamplin.
