Around The Grounds: Home Park, Plymouth Argyle
By Ollie Irish
The latest in our series of photo essays on British football grounds is about Plymouth Argyle’s Home Park, aka the Theatre of Greens. It’s not an especially picturesque ground, but it’s Home to the Green Army nonetheless…

I think it’s a really nice ground. three smart stands and a really old school one a la Craven Cottage. Nice location the park too, one of my favourite away days.
Nice enough town (I went to school there), not the greatest location even if it’s fairly central and near the park.
Plymouths ground always has had character, lets hope that the new ground has something different about it, atmosphere comes from eccentricity not from sterile bowls. Home park is an atmospheric place when the team are doing well, and abysmal last season for atmosphere. My favourite match at Home park was an fa cup quarter final v derby, 1984, 35,000 inside the noise electrifiying. My dad used to go with all the lads from the dockyard when over 40,000 used to watch the greens at home park.
gamblino who u support?
plymouth is a city.
wolves so luckily currently enjoying more glamorous away days! Like Burnley and Blackpool.
