In Pictures: England U21 2-1 Romania U21, Euro 2011 Play-Off First Leg

By Ollie Irish

With Fabio Capello watching in the stands at Carrow Road (good access for wheeeeelchairs, I hear), England’s youngsters (aka the All-New Golden Generation) edged Romania in the home leg of their Euro 2011 playoff, with goals by Sunderland’s Jordan Henderson and a winner by Man Utd defender Chris Smalling. The tie is still 50-50 but I fancy Stuart Pearce’s England to sneak it, even without the skills of Jack Wilshere, who is now training with the senior squad ahead of Tuesday’s game against Montenegro at Wembley.
