Remember Ian Harte? From 1997? Well he’s still playing in the Premier League somehow, for Reading no less, and despite being from a bygone era, he’s still obviously savvy to the crazes of today’s footballing youth – take his attempt at “contact anticipation/simulation” against Villa for example…

Charlie Chaplin would’ve been proud of that one. The technique is Bale-level flawless but the timing’s still a little off. Perhaps wait until there’s someone within a 10 metre radius of you next time Ian!
