A truly magical moment from Internacional’s recent Campeonato Gaucho game against Gloria has been doing the rounds of late after the Gloria ‘keeper managed to successfully repel a penalty kick despite having absolutely no idea where the ball was at any point.
It was Internacional’s Marquinhos who was tasked with dispatching the kick, only to see it come back of both posts and into his path.
Without twigging that the goal would’ve been disallowed if he’d have stuck the rebound in, Marquinhos then unleashed his follow-up, only to see the befuddled Glora stopper deny him with a brilliant, unorthodox back-heel save…

In fairness, Marquinhos did go on to find the net in a comfortable 3-0 win for Internacional, but we all know who the real Man of the Match was, don’t we?
