Having failed to score in his first three games for OKC Energy FC, forward Miguel Gonzalez opened his account with gusto against Sacramento Republic in the United Soccer League on Tuesday evening.

Indeed, Gonzalez’s outrageous effort proved to be the only goal of the game and featured the ultra rare combination of a flip throw-in assist and an acrobatic bicycle kick finish…

Speaking to ESPN3 after the match, Gonzalez said:

When you see a chance like that, it’s just an instinct and you hit it. Fortunately it went in the goal.

And you know, I’m happy that happened. And even happier that we got the three points here at home for the fans.

Kudos to Brian Harris for the spectacular throw too, though shame on Sacramento for not defending against it properly…
