Varese’s Goal Against Livorno Goes Missing In White-Out Blizzard (Video)

By Chris Wright

It snowed a fair old bit in and around Northwest Italy last night, so much so in fact that the Serie A tie between Parma and Juventus bit the big white bullet and was duly called off. However, the same cannot be said for Livorno’s Serie B game against Varese, which went ahead despite the stadium being engulfed in a blizzard for the majority of the evening.

Submitted as evidence of the snow-bound madness, here’s a goal which Varese’s Magnus Troest managed to score in the last ten minutes of his side’s 3-1 away victory.

It’s almost impossible to keep track of the (white) ball. Christ, even the Varese players themselves take several seconds to realise the damn thing is nestling in the back of the net…

Never once saw the ball in that complete clip.

  2. Isaac says:

    cant see it at all

  3. Chris says:

@Isaac: I can just about keep track of it until the Varese player makes contact. After that, I’m out.

  4. Sjakie Meulemans says:

It’s CLEARLY going in in the bottom left corner…

  5. Kate says:

I have literally watched this clip 10 times, and everytime, I still cannot see the ball.

  6. Anonymous says:

Start from the end. Look at the keeper dive and look to his right, thats where the ball ends up. Next figure out who’s claiming the goal and you’ll see him flick the ball on route. I think the corner was cleared and then it was hit back in and some one got a flick on it.

  7. Luke says:

It’s a wise and quality backheel finish

  8. Redskywalker7 says:

Why the hell are they using a white ball!?!?

  9. Murray says:

It took me three times before I barely made out the ball crossing the line. Got the keeper going the wrong way, they did.

  10. MrMac says:
