In which, during a pre-season friendly between Fiorentina and Galatasaray, Viola ‘keeper Emiliano Viviano drops an almighty bollock, letting Umut Bulut’s innocuous long-range squirt through him and into the net.
Quite rightly embarrassed, Viviano then dives to the floor claiming to have sustained a terrible ‘knee injury’ that prevented him from keeping Bulut’s wimpy tinkler at bay. Committed to the bit, the Italian was then stretchered off with his knee in a brace…
Thankfully, it appears that Viviano survived his horrific ordeal, with Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Montella allaying everybody’s worst fears after the game: “With Viviano there seems to be nothing serious, but the doctor will surely be more accurate than me about that.”
Oh, thank Jesusallahbuddha for that.
