In which, irate having been harshly sent off for a slightly mistimed slide tackle against PEC Zwolle last night, PSV defender Erik Pieters (who was playing his first game after nine months out injured) hulks up while storming off the pitch and duly begins to kick the living daylights out of the tunnel – a tantrum that culminates in Pieters punching through a plate glass window and slicing his hand apart like rare venison…

(Warning: There be blood)

The laceration was so severe that Pieters was tethered to a stretcher and rushed to hospital in the back of an ambulance where he had his various wounds stitched.

There is a photo doing the rounds of the injuries Pieters sustained, but frankly it’s a little too gruesome to post. Should you wish, you can see it here.
