Southampton may have dominated for large periods of this game at St. Mary’s on Saturday, but ultimately it was the visitors Cardiff who would come away with a precious three points.

Defender Juan Cala was the goal-hero for the relegation-threatened side, firing home just after the hour-mark to put the Bluebirds ahead. The Saints did their best to get back into the game but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side stood firm to register a vital three points in their fight to avoid the drop.

Cardiff are now three points from safety while Southampton stay eighth.
