England 3-1 Slovenia – Euro 2016 Qualifying – 15th November 2014
Danny Welbeck continued his superb England goal-scoring run by netting a brace in the Three Lions’ less-then-scintillating win against Slovenia on Saturday night.
Roy Hodgson’s side produced an uninspiring performance in the Group E game and went behind just before the hour-mark, when Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson headed into his own net. However, a Wayne Rooney penalty soon after (in his 100th senior England appearance) and a brace from Arsenal hitman Welbeck secured a deserved win for the hosts.
England’s 100% record in qualification so far sees them top the group with 12 points, six ahead of second-placed Slovenia.
