A hard-fought draw away to Finland secured top spot in Group F for the already qualified Northern Ireland on Sunday.

Having already done all the hard work against Greece on Thursday, the Northern Irish were still looking to top the group and Michael O’Neill’s men started well.

After creating a number of chances, the goal eventually came on 31 minutes for the visitors, when Watford defender Craig Cathcart headed home from a Niall McGinn centre.

The hosts improved after the break, with the Northern Irish tiring, but it took until the 87th minute for the Finns to get back on level terms, courtesy of a strike from Paulus Arajuuri.

However, the visitors held on to secure a draw which sees them finish a fantastic campaign sitting pretty at the top of Group F.
