The man you see before you is none other than Lucas Melano, forward for the Portland Timbers and purveyor of one of the finest pieces of play-acting we’ve seen for weeks.

Coming during Saturday night’s 2-2 draw against Real Salt Lake in MLS, Melano took the merest of shoves from opponent Chris Wingert and proceeded to use it as a launchpad for one of the most ridiculous, tremendous, acrobatic micro-dives of recent memory.

It even included a textbook ‘pleading look toward the referee’ to finish, just to maximise the effect…

Bravo, sir. Bravo.

You should be truly proud of your accomplishments this day.

What? He’s South American? REALLY? :o

  2. Bill Shutter says:

I think he may have sneezed and farted at the same time. I’m sure this movement would be the normal outcome in such an event.

  3. James says:

No, sneezing and farting at the same time results in a backwards roll

  4. Bill Shutter says:

Hmm…yes, James. You’re right. What was I thinking? Perhaps he tried to hold them both in. Do you reckon that’s what happened?
(Although if he did hold a fart in, he is extremely fortunate his heart didn’t explode.)

    • Marvin says:

He’d be right to hold a fart in…. Apparently it is a book able offence …. At least in Sweden (pies, June 23)
