Kerem Demirbay scored a fabulous goal on Sunday, during Germany’s 3-1 Confederations Cup win against Cameroon.

Demirbay was making only his second appearance for the German senior side, and his first start. However, the Hoffenheim midfielder didn’t take long to make his mark, courtesy of a superb opening goal in the second-half.

Playing a slick one-two with Julian Draxler, the 23-year-old Demirbay then proceeded to thump home a powerful effort which left Fabrice Ondoa with no chance in the Cameroon goal.

Jogi Loew’s side would run out 3-1 winners, with Tim Werner also netting a brace.

Vincent Aboubakar netted Cameroon’s only goal of the game, although the Indomitable Lions’ hopes of victory weren’t helped by the sending off of Ernest Mabouka just after the hour-mark, with the arguably harsh decision made via VAR.

Germany now progress to the semi-finals, where they’ll meet Mexico. Portugal and Chile face each other in the other game.
