Atletico Junior produced a fairly comfortable 2-0 victory over Tigres in the Colombian Primera A on Sunday but, in all honesty, the winning margin definitely should have been more emphatic to the tune of at least one more goal.
As the match moved into its final stages, Junior won themselves a penalty which star striker Teofilo Gutierrez (once briefly of Sporting Lisbon) stepped up to dispatch.
However, what should have been a formality soon turned into a horror show for the 32-year-old as he promptly sent his spot-kick wide by quite some distance…
As can be seen on the replay, a patch of loose turf saw Gutierrez botch his connection, sending the ball looping meekly wide of the target without even reaching the advertising hoardings behind the goal.
Unfortunate maybe, but still god-awful nonetheless.
