Usain Bolt scored his first goals as a footballer as Central Coast Mariners coasted to a 4-0 friendly win over Macarthur South West United in Sydney.

The Jamaican sprinter is currently on an extended trial with the Mariners and his hoping to secure a full contract come the end of it.

While it may not have counted for much, Bolt scored twice in the second half before being replaced after 75 minutes.

The first came in the 57th minute, when the World’s Fastest Man™ outpaced his marker and drilled a low shot in at the near post…

The second came shortly thereafter – a simple tap-in resulting from a calamitous defensive mix-up, which Bolt still managed to make look a little awkward…

Interviewed on the sidelines by Fox Sports after the game, Bolt said:

I’m just happy that I got a chance and I’m proud of myself. It was a big deal.

Scoring a goal in your first match, it was a good feeling.

I personally feel that I’ve learned a lot and I’ve been improving quickly.

Good on him for getting the job done, but you can’t help but feel the A-League is still a long, long way away.
