Cristiano Ronaldo Denied Brilliant Goal By Nani’s Stupidity (Video)

After toiling for the first half-an-hour or so of the game, Portugal’s prize pony Cristiano Ronaldo was robbed of a brilliant solo opener against Iberian rivals Spain last night, when some thoughtful last-gasp ‘defending’ from Nani saw the Real Madrid forward’s effort rendered null and void…

…Fortunately, Portugal latterly when on to rout La Roja 4-0 thanks to goals from Carlos Martins, Hugo Almeida and a brace from Helder Postiga so, given Ronaldo’s famously placid ego, presumably all was forgiven.

UPDATE: Nani has now publicly apologised to Ronaldo for shafting him like a right royal twonk:

“After having time to think about it I said sorry to Ronaldo. It was a great piece of play and I shouldn’t have ruined it.”

  1. Big Al says:

Nani wasn’t offside as the grounded Spanish defender clearly plays him onside.

You guys are just bitter that Portugal are far superior to the woeful England side. Portugal beat the world champions and England lose to one of the worst sides at the World Cup.

  2. Chris says:

@Big Al: True, but the ball was undeniably going in anyway – had Nani left it alone there would’ve been no grounds for argument.

  3. Anonymous says:

In all fairness you never give a defender a chance to clear it. He had to follow it up.

  4. Ollie Irish says:

I love this clip, especially Ron’s tantrum.

  5. Lorenzo says:

wasn’t the ball already in when nani hit it?

  6. Meji says:

    Wow Nani wasnt offside.

  7. Ben365 says:

I would have slapped him for that. Incredible what a prat (Nani)!

  8. Stat-o says:

The way Nani attacks the header and celebrates (lack of it) kind of indicates to me he thought the ball had already gone in (which it looks like it had) and he was just heading the ball for the hell of it and waiting round that area in case.

  9. ph0bolus says:

Maybe it was a cross intended for Nani..That would be my argument if I was the idiot that did that.

  10. Hootie says:

Ronaldo either did not celebrate or was very late to join the celebrations following Martin’s opener, I imagine overcome by the injustice that made someone else the center of attention for thirty seconds.

Re: Nani – I’m still standing by the “He’s a smaller, shitter Ronaldo” theory. Even down to the haircut, he displays all the aspects of Ronaldo’s bad side (diving, attention-whoring, going for the personal glory when a simple pass will do) accompanied by a maddening combination of talent and less, albeit slowly-emerging, end product.

  11. yeeeeeeeah says:

Nani is such a greedy faggot

  12. hahahahahahaha says:

Nani wasn’t offside. The Spanish player on the ground on the near side of the screen kept him on. Plus, it looked like the ball was already in when Nani hit it.

  13. Thomas says:

I never thought this was possible but I actually hate Nani more than CR now. It’s one thing to be the biggest cunt in football, but it’s a sad situation to be jealous of the biggest cunt in football.

  14. diogo says:

Shouldn’t there be a second update on the text? Ok, i can put it myself…

2ND UPDATE: The goal should have been validated. It seems that Nani wasn’t offside because Piquet on the floor was clearly putting him in a legal position. Also, the ball was already inside the goal when Nani touched it.

  15. James says:

Surely even the staunchest Man U fan realises Nani is a twat?

  16. steppenwolf says:

4-0 has got me hoping pique, puyol and casillas have lost it, spain would be so fucked.

  17. steppenwolf says:

ps. postiga pulling back and waiting for ronaldo to kick makes nani seem offside because hes there so early

  18. Hugter says:

Nani is a greedy fuckin cunt. hy the fuck head something that is basically in already.

Ronaldo is a class act. Although it didn’t count i reckon we’ll be seeing a lot more of this ‘goal’.

    Great play
