Paolo Di Canio Scuffles With His Own Player After Carling Cup Defeat (Video)

By Chris Wright

Amazing, really, that it’s taken this long, but Swindon manager Paolo Di Canio managed to come to blows with one of his own players in the tunnel at the County Ground after last night’s 3-1 Carling Cup defeat to Southampton.

According to the Beeb, Swindon striker Leon Clarke got himself embroiled in a ‘heated debate’ with fitness coach after the final whistle when Di Canio intervened and attempted to shepherd Clarke down the tunnel by tugging his shirt – a move that didn’t go down too well…

Apparently, Clarke then left the ground immediately while still wearing his kit and Di Canio failed to appear for his post-match press conference.

Eep, anyone get a feeling there will be blood?

This is only being made into a big due because it is Di Canio, nothing innit really.

  2. Ell says:

I was there, he didn’t leave immediatley. He simply stood in the middle of the pitch in a protest when all the other players had gone!

  3. sukrut says:

di canio is a racist lazie thug… merda lazio
    NO TOTTI NO PARTY

  4. RyanSSL says:

Di Canio just put his arm around the guy like lets talk and Clarke gave him attitude. No coach would take that type of behavior. You can say what you want about Paolo but he is opinionated and he believes players should give 100% every time they play.

    @ Sukrut

Shut up fag… Totti is the biggest bitch in Football.. he is already fighting and crying with Luis Enrique. A Roma solo la LAZIO.

  5. Redskywalker says:

first sign of a shite manager

  6. Terry Sheddingham says:

Bloody hell, how did Roma ultras find their way here?!

  7. Montesquieu says:

    Lazie? Learn to write mate.

Besides, Di Canio is a fascist not a racist. Fascism and racism are not necessairly the one and the same, although fascism as well as racism tend to ‘go well’ together.

  8. Andy says:

Leon is a stupid little man
