Al Hooti’s sending-off also played a fairly significant part in Bahrain being absolutely hammered 6-0 by Iran, a rout which includeda 25-yard belter from the right boot of former Bolton and Fulham midfielder Andranik Teymourian…

  1. Crazy sending off. At least Rooney lasted a good hour against Montenegro.

  2. Guy says:

Referee was Australian Peter Green for those playing at home. Can’t blame him for it either.

  3. chimpo says:

i heard the guy said “Your mother is a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries”

    WHACK

  4. Montesquieu says:

This was a hilariously shit foul, I think only Boris Johnson can claim to have had better.

  5. Mayo says:

Tackle was a deserved red, but that Iran player sure Busquets’d it up

  6. Kate says:

Good decision … I’m sick of people arguing that they got the ball. No where in the FIFA rule book does it say touching the ball means you get off.

If only Peter Green could have done the same thing to Foschini for his awful tackle on Shannon Cole in the Melbourne, Sydney game

  7. Dale says:

Red card any day of the week.
