Leicester City forward Jamie Vardy has enjoyed an incredible 2015/16 season so far, with the speedy striker finding the back of the net in each of his last nine Premier League games. On Saturday against Newcastle, the England hitman can make it 10 in a row and thus equal the record, currently held by Man Utd legend Ruud van Nistelrooy.
The Dutch hitman managed his run across two seasons (02/03 and 03/04) but now, on the cusp of losing his outright record, Van Nistelrooy has decided to wish Vardy well ahead of the Foxes’ weekend clash with Newcastle.
Taking to Instagram, Van Nistelrooy urged the 28-year-old England attacker to ultimately break his own fine record, saying “Records are there to be broken. Go on @vardy7, all the best and good luck!”, which is rather nice…
I guess we’re supposed to forget all that racist stuff from Vardy now, are we?
