Robbie Keane has been at Celtic for less than three months, but nonetheless he was voted the club’s Player of the Year by its fans. It’s a coded message in two parts: firstly to the management to do everything in its power to sign the Spurs striker on a permanent deal, secondly to Keane’s team-mates that they have simply not been good enough this season.
Aiden McGeady, who’s done OK this year, won the players’ player of the year category, whilst promising (i.e. headed for the Premier League) teenage defender Josh Thomson won the young player’s award.
