A single, 82nd-minute goal from Dedryck Boyata was enough to secure Celtic a slim 1-0 victory over Qarabag FK in the first leg of their Champions League qualifier in Glasgow last night.

The powerful header, Boyata’s second goal in the tournament since signing from Man City a month or so ago, ensured Celtic travel to Azerbaijan for the second leg next week with the narrowest of advantages tucked under their collective belts.

So elated was the centre-back with his night’s work that he decided to celebrate with the now-familiar Belgian custom of honking a ballboy into the middle of next week…

Heart-warming stuff.

Of course, we have Eden Hazard to thank for introducing the traditional Flemish flourish to English audiences, with the Chelsea man both shocking and delighting fans in equal measure when he famously debuted his contemporary interpretation in the League Cup against Swansea in 2013.

And they say tradition has no place in modern football.

    a) to say that he knocked the ballboy into the “middle of next week” is an exaggeration. He clipped him yes, and a pat on the back and a quick sorry would have been nice — but the ballboy immediately gets up and seems to be smiling.

b)this new layout is just awful. It reminds me of the tabloid sites (Sun/Mirror, etc.)

    that is all.

I agree with point b) above
