Chelsea Are Your 2014/15 Premier League Champions!

By Chris Wright

A hard-fought 1-0 win over Crystal Palace at the Bridge today saw Chelsea attain an insurmountable lead at the top of the Premier League with three games to spare.

Look at ’em, the boring buggers…

Not wishing to brag or anything, but we totally called it!

Strategic, defensive, electric early on and nigh-on mechanical at times since Christmas, there’s no doubting Chelsea have been by far and away the best team in the Premier League this season and certainly deserve their title – which speaks volumes about the diluted calibre of their opposition.

As for Jose Mourinho, that’s a career average of one trophy every 34 games. Not bad. Not bad at all.

Jose has mastered an efficient way to win games to keep energy reserves intact for the bigger games. Amazing against Manchester they 29% possession but won. They can be beaten as Europe games show, when sides really go at them. But Germany also showed, what got them over the line was freshness. All them Munich players could relax with 8 games to go in the season before the worldcup. It’s not illegal what chelesa do but those tactics to bully refs, time waste and niggling fouls – its against the spirit of the game especially when its a common theme. It deadens the spectacle, really its taking the game backwards. But the epl are silent on these matters. Time for the other clubs to stand up for themselves and show chelesa, you will not have it your way.

Wow, I went to the predictions and (as of now) you got it pretty much accurate. I think I might start betting your champion predictions (2 out of 3 seasons ain’t bad)

I will say this tho…Mourinho did show class during the post match interview. He spoke of letting the players do the lap of honour while he sat in the dressing room. Thats something rare in coaches, where they generally like to be a part of the spotlight. I’m sure it grates the players too when the coach casts a shadow on them.

An interesting insight he gave us.

He has figured out on his travels, results over performance is the important statistic. Results is the thing that gives everyone confidence to keep performing well.

At any cost he gets the result. He also knows the ego of other managers/players to want to dominate and show chelesa whos boss. So he tailors a gameplan for each team – to get a *drum roll* ……….result.

Amazing 29% possession against Utd – yet they get the 3 pts.

BTW Chelesa may have had 5 years without an EPL title, but there is a small matter of the champions league and uefa cup. They are massive confidence boosters, they wouldve been good preparation for a ’tilt-at-the-title’.
