One win in ten for Liverpool, six draws in a row for City; it’s clear that neither of these flawed teams will trouble Chelsea, Man Utd and Arsenal in the title shake-up.
This was very much a game of two 45-minute segments (catchy, huh) – the first half was dire and goalless (City showed zero ambition), the second notable for some poor defending and four goals shared evenly.
A draw suits neither Rafa Benitez nor Mark Hughes – the Spaniard is only a couple of poor results away from losing his job (Guus Hiddink anyone?), and with Daniel Agger (head wound) and Ryan Babel (foot) both going off injured today, things don’t look like they’re about to improve. As for Sparky, he is hardly on safer ground. A couple more draws here, a loss or two there, and City’s megarich owners will surely look for new management (Guus Hiddink anyone?).
