Soon as they’d finished getting stuffed 6-1 by Stoke City on the final day of the season, the Liverpool squad flew out to Dubai for a three-day post-season trip planned by the players as a send-off for Steven Gerrard.
The Liverpool boys were obviously in high spirits, soon forgetting all about their less than stellar end to the 2014/15 campaign after being filmed breaking out into an impromptu rendition of the Kolo/Yaya Toure chant with their club captain leading the chorus…
We can’t help but think that not conspiring to lose the final two games of his 17-year, one-club career by an aggregate score of 9-2 against Stoke and Crystal Palace might have been a more substantial way to wave their departing captain off into the Los Angelean sunset, but hey ho.
