Liverpool kickstarted their Premier League campaign with a thumping thrashing of West Ham at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp started with summer-signing Naby Keita in midfield and Alisson in goal while Jack Wilshere was one of a raft of new faces in the Hammers’ 11.

It took just 19 minutes for last season’s star turn, Mohamed Salah, to open the scoring in his 50th Premier League appearance after good work from Andy Robertson.

West Ham struggled to create anything themselves up front and just before the break, they went 2-0 down with Sadio Mané converting from a James Milner cut-back.

Soon after the break, Mané netted his second of the game, although the Senegal attacker was well offside before he fired past Lukasz Fabiański.

The Reds would get a fourth goal late on, with sub Daniel Sturridge netting just 24 seconds after coming off the bench.

The game would end 4-0 to the Merseysiders, the fourth time in a row they had put four past the Hammers in the league.

As for Manuel Pellegrini and West Ham, they won’t face many harder games this season.

A massive statement by Liverpool footballers. A solid win for Klopp and his boys. All the best to Manuel Pellegrini and the Hammers in the season ahead.

All this exitement around Liverpool… yet we all know they’ll finish below City and boring Mou United.
