Having been teetering on the brink of completing his £27 million transfer to Manchester City for nearly a week now, Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko‘s protracted switch to Eastlands has reportedly hit another snag – a snag that left him stranded at Heathrow Airport for a good couple of hours.
According to this morning’s Sun, Dzeko reportedly produced the wrong kind of VISA when he touched down in Britain on Wednesday morning so, instead of travelling to Manchester to undergo his physical at Eastlands and then watch City’s game with Arsenal as planned, the Bosnian was made to wait until club officials managed to set up a ‘half-way house’ in Watford for the target man to finally undergo his medical – which he duly passed.
The red top also seem to have deduced that obtaining the correct VISA papers may take up to 28 days, which apparently puts the entire move in doubt as the transfer window closes in just 24.
Poor sod. Half a day in an airport followed by a grim day trip to England’s arsehole. Although, having sat through the City-Arsenal dirge myself, I’d wager that Mr Dzeko probably got off lightly.
