Algeria snaffled a late 1-0 away win against neighbouring Libya on Sunday evening in their African Cup of Nations qualifier played on neutral soil in Casablanca, with substitute El Arbi Hillel Soudani scoring a minute from time to give the Algerian’s the advantage going in to the second leg in October – which didn’t go down particularly well with the Libyans, as it happens.
After 90+ minutes of tense and strenuous stalemate, the late winner and the sound of the final whistle combined seemed to be a cue for the exasperated Libyan players to chase their opponents around for having the temerity to celebrate their victory, with a mass dust-up breaking out in the middle the pitch…
Such grace in defeat. How about simmering down a tad chaps?
