Nigeria 2-3 Argentina – World Cup Group F – 25th June 2014
Nigeria and Argentina both made it through to the knockout stages after an enjoyable five-goal game in Porto Alegre.
Lionel Messi was once again the star of the show for Argentina, bagging a brace including a free-kick which Super Eagles’ ‘keeper Vincent Enyeama really should have done better with. However, after both of Messi’s goals, the outstanding Ahmed Musa hit back, with the first of his brace a superb curling effort.
Ultimately, however, it was defender Marcos Rojo who would bundle home the winner on 50 minutes as both sides looked forward to the last 16.
