Mad scenes in the Copa America last night, where Edinson Cavani was shown a second yellow card on the hour mark of Uruguay’s quarter-final clash against Chile.
His crime? Giving Gonzalo Jara a quick rap across the face after the Chilean defender subjected him to the old ‘Santiago Stinkfinger’ behind the referee’s back before going down theatrically when the Uruguayan striker took umbrage at being rectally violated…
Lovely. Jara has previous in the sexual molestation stakes too, having once groped Luis Suarez’s gentleman giblets during a previous encounter – a World Cup qualifier in 2013 – against Uruguay.
What a friendly fellow he is.
For the record, host nation Chile won 1-0 courtesy of a late Mauricio Isla goal to spirit themselves through to the semis.
