A blunt Scotland suffered a serious blow to their chances of Euro 2016 qualification on Friday night, with Gordon Strachan’s charges going down 1-0 to Georgia in Tbilisi.

The visitors started brightly but struggled to create any clear-cut chances.

However, the hosts started to take control of the game and eventually took the lead before the break, with Vitesse Arnhem’s Qazaishvili firing past David Marshall.

The Scots puished for an equaliser, with Steven Naismith’s close-range effort ruled out for a foul on ‘keeper Nukri Revishvili.

Steven Fletcher then hit the frame of the goal, albeit after he’d been flagged offside as the Scots desperately looked for a precious leveller.

However, in the end their lack of cutting edge (they didn’t direct one shot on target all game) saw them lose the game and, more importantly, drop to fourth in Group D.
