As expected, Laurent Koscielny will play no part in Saturday’s FA Cup final clash with Chelsea, after Arsenal failed with their appeal against his red card picked up in Sunday’s clash with Everton.

The Gunners were rather chancing their arm with the appeal, with Koscielny’s challenge on Enner Valencia wild and rather unnecessary.

Not surprisingly, the FA dismissed the appeal, meaning that the Frenchman’s automatic one-game game has now been extended to three matches.

As for Saturday’s Wembley clash, Arsene Wenger now faces a defensive headache, with both Gabriel and Shkodran Mustafi big doubts for the game.

Even the most positive-minded of Arsenal fans will surely be more than a tad apprehensive about a back three of Nacho Monreal, Rob Holding and Per Mertesacker.

Diego Costa and Eden Hazard will be licking their lips!

Cheeky bastard trying to appeal that. Should slap a fine on top. Could have ended a career with that terrible challenge
