The Football Association have charged Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini with improper conduct for his part in a touchline altercation with his Everton counterpart David Moyes.

The incident in question took place when the two teams met in the Premier League on Wednesday night. During injury time, the pair clashed as Mancini (who’s side were trailing) attempted to retrieve the ball from Moyes, after the latter caught and held a long Everton clearance that had gone out of play.

Both managers were promptly sent to their respective dressing rooms by referee Peter Walton after being separated by the fourth official Howard Webb, but The FA has only seen fit to charge the City boss – who has until April 6th to respond.

A regulatory commission will then hear the charge either by or before April 19th.
