Barring a ricket of biblical proportions, it looks Man City will be playing in the Carabao Cup final next month as the Premier League champions are in the process of drubbing Burton Albion.

We might (at time of writing) only be 45 minutes into a two-legged tie, but City have already amassed a dominant 4-0 lead with goals from Kevin De Bruyne (‘5), Gabriel Jesus (’30 and ’34) and Oleksandr Zinchenko (’37) proving the distance thus far.

Zinchenko’s strike was his first for City, though whether or not he actually meant it is a matter of debate – the 22-year-old Ukrainian flooping a lofty cross-cum-shot Burton ‘keeper Bradley Collins from the edge of the area.

All we’ll say is that he looked mighty bashful while celebrating…

The goal was warmly greeted by those City fans inside the Etihad and was missed by the droves of travelling Burton fans who are running the risk of missing the entirety of their side’s first ever appearance in a major cup semi-final after getting snarled up in a huge traffic jam on the M6 motorway.

Rough.
