Snapshot: Pithy Man Utd Fan Edits Mesut Ozil’s ‘Current Location’ On Twitter Profile…

By Chris Wright

We don’t usually go in for this kind of tribal banter/nonsense, but a doff of the cap is definitely due to whichever pithy Manchester United fan edited Mesut Ozil’s ‘current location’ setting on his Twitter homepage after the German no-showed during Sunday’s game at Old Trafford…

For those concerned about his personal details, Ozil’s account wasn’t actually hacked and this is just photoshop job – but still…a fine piece of work.

There’s been a far worse example of fans doing something despicable to get under the opposition’s skin in Germany. Whereas this one is fairly harmless, after a match against Hannover, Eintracht Braunschweig’s fans unveiled a picture in a forum that had Robert Enke, Hannover’s keeper who had committed suicide 4 years ago, with a train going into his mouth, and with the words “Follow your keeper” (picture here –> To make matters worse, this all happened precisely on the 4 year anniversary of Enke’s death.

This is truly horrendous and Eintracht’s fans should be ashamed of themselves for failing as human beings.

  2. Michael says:

    Should be “Jones’s”

  3. AS says:

No it shouldn’t. When a word ends in s, the apostrophe is just added to the end… Basic grammar bro…

  4. Paul Ryder n says:

Jones’ is correct, as his name ends in “S”

  5. MGJ says:

    Taxi for Michael.

  6. Rob says:

    Staying with the pedantic theme,
footballer’s don’t actually have pockets in their shorts.

  7. porcelain sandwich says:

AS – when the S at the end of a word alludes to a plural, like “parents'” then you have it on the end. If it’s just someone’s name that ends in S, you put “Jones’s”.

God, what a way to spend a Wednesday morning.

  8. JimmyBeefy says:

They’re actually both correct, depends completely on personal preference.

  9. Wood says:

@Rob except for Milan and those Gold shirts
