Yeovil Town 0-2 Manchester United – FA Cup 3rd Round – 4th January 2015
Second-half goals from Ander Herrera and Angel Di Maria secured Manchester United’s passage into the third round of the FA Cup at Huish Park on Sunday.
Hosts Yeovil Town produced a fine, hard-working display with the Red Devils struggling to fashion decent goal-scoring opportunities. After the break. the Glovers then had a great chance to take the lead, only for striker Kieffer Moore to fluff his lines in front of goal. Soon after that, Louis Van Gaal’s men went 1-0 up, courtesy of a fine Ander Herrera strike. Yeovil pushed for an equaliser but were eventually caught on the break, with Di Maria produced a clever dinked finish to seal the deal for the visitors.
Van Gaal will be pleased to have registered a win in his first ever FA Cup tie, although injuries to wing-backs Luke Shaw and Rafael will no doubt concern to the United boss.
