Photos: Motherwell 1-0 Breidablik, Europa League Second Qualifying Round
By Ollie Irish
Breidablik are deep into their domestic season (they’re currently leading the league in Iceland), so you might have expected them to be sharper than Motherwell. But that wasn’t the case; both sides looked sluggish, but Ross Forbes’ goal earned a deserved victory for the SPL side in the first leg of this second round Europa League qualifier. Incidentally, it was Craig Brown’s first ever European match as a manager.
I expect Motherwell to score in the second leg, which would make them strong favourites to progress to the third round, where they would face Aalesund of Norway.
