Velez beat Huracan 1-0 at home to take the title in dramatic and controversial fashion. Huracan had needed only a draw to win the league, while Velez needed a win. With eight minutes to go, the score was 0-0, but Velez midfielder Maximiliano Moralez then bundled in a goal from close range after Huracan’s keeper had apparently been fouled.
